As you settle into your seat for take off your trip back in time is just beginning.
As you soar over the icefields of Kluane National Park you will stare in wonder at the ice below, it will feel like you have entered the ice age. Kluane National Park boasts the largest non polar icefields in the world! You may see the Kaskawulsh, Donjek, Steel and Stairway Glaciers, Mount Logan, Mount Queen Mary, Ampitheatre Mountain and many others. (17 of Canada’s highest peaks are located in the park). When you have completed your flight you will shake your head in disbelief at the beauty you were able to witness firsthand just a short flight from home. It’s not over yet! Drive back a short distance and you will see the World’s Largest Gold pan(painted by local artist Jared Dulac) – that’s how you know you are at the Kluane Museum of History, don’t judge a book by it’s cover you will be amazed at the wonders that await you inside. The gift shop has locally made moccasins and other unique local goodies. The animals and 3D map of the icefields are just a start. You will have your choice of a movie about the Trail of 42 or Yukon wildlife, receive a poster and lo guide for local hiking trails. Last but not least, you will be able to “walk in our ancestor’s shoes” with a self guided walking tour complete with historical facts on the locations throughout Burwash Landing.
