Drive the beautiful Alaska Highway with a view of the St. Elias Mountains, and along Kluane Lake the largest lake completely in the Yukon, where you will see blue skies and blue water for miles. Look for sheep as you arrive at Tachal Dhal (Sheep Mountain), stop at the Tachal Dhal (Sheep Mountain) Visitor information centre for a quick tour while you stretch your legs and look for sheep. Once you arrive at Burwash Landing the fun begins.
Spend half your day casting into the beautiful Kluane Lake where you can fish for record breaking lake trout. Your guide was born and raised in the Kluane region and knows all the “sweet spots” on the lake to give you a better chance at finding the “big one”. Wildlife abounds in the Kluane country so you may see bears out fishing on the shores of the lake or a lynx out for a walk.
Once you are done fishing for the day you can relax and soar above the clouds where you may see sheep on the way into the world’s largest non polar icefields of Kluane National Park. You will see the Kaskawulsh, Donjek, Kluane Glaciers, Mount Queen Mary, Mount Logan….and the list goes on, sit back relax and take it all in.
